Arrabawn Co-op and Gaslink Sign Natural Gas Agreement
Arrabawn Co-op and Gaslink have signed an agreement for the extension of the natural gas network to the Irish co-op’s milk processing plant in Nenagh, County Tipperary. Arrabawn, which has a turnover of €220 million and employs 300 staff, will become the anchor customer in the region for natural gas when Nenagh is connected to the national grid next year.
Gaslink is the Transmission System Operator (TSO) and Distribution System Operator (DSO) and is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing Ireland’s natural gas transmission and distribution systems. Gaslink has been established under legislation as an independent subsidiary of Bord Gáis Éireann (BGÉ) to fulfil the requirements of EU Directives relating to the development of the natural gas market.
