Kirchhoff Ireland (KI), a subsidiary of Kirchhoff Automotive SE, has launched its first large-scale training and transformation initiative at its Letterkenny facility. The initiative marks a significant undertaking by Kirchhoff which will invest approximately €900,000 over the next two years in its first large-scale training programme focusing on innovation, sustainability, and digitalisation. This transformation initiative is supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland.

KIRCHHOFF Ireland was established in Letterkenny in 1981. The company is part of the global automotive supplier KIRCHHOFF Automotive and, as an international Tier 1 supplier of complex metal structure parts, supplies major automotive manufacturers. KIRCHHOFF Ireland’s customers include Mercedes-Benz, JLR, and BMW.

Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke said: “This significant investment not only reflects the company’s strong commitment to innovation and sustainability but also highlights the strategic importance of talent development in Ireland’s manufacturing sector. The Government, through IDA Ireland, is proud to support projects, like this, that empower and up-skill our workforce, as well as reinforcing Ireland’s position as a global hub for advanced manufacturing. I wish all the team at Kirchhoff the very best for the future.”

Wolfgang Kirchhoff, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of KIRCHHOFF Automotive, who visited the plant to launch the first large-scale training and transformation initiative to take place at the site, commented: “This initiative will contribute significantly to up-skilling the over 40 staff at our Irish site to master future advanced technical challenges and drive the successful delivery of high-value projects. I would like to thank IDA Ireland for its partnership and support in this endeavour.”

Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said: “We are delighted to partner with Kirchhoff in their plans to transform their business. This partnership reflects IDA Ireland’s dedication to supporting our clients in their transformation and talent development endeavours, as called out in our “Adapt Intelligently” corporate strategy and which further strengthens our position as a hub for continued investment and innovation.  I wish Kirchhoff success on their transformation journey.”
