APC opens new Dublin HQ and creates 100 high-skill jobs

pharma_chemie_jobs_lab100 new high-skill jobs are to be created in Dublin over the next 18 months by a pharmaceutical research company.

APC Ltd helps drug companies to convert molecules developed in the lab into finished products ready for manufacturing.

The four-year-old firm, which is a UCD spin out company, opened its new process research facility in Cherrywood in Dublin this morning.

The 6,000 sq m facility will also serve as the company’s headquarters. APC also has offices on the east and west coast of the US. The company currently employs 60 people across its sites.

APC is already working with the 8 out of the top 10 biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world and 5 out of the top 10 largest biotech firms.

To fill the new roles the company is looking for a range of different talents, incoming chemical engineering, Bioprocessing engineering, scientists, analysts and statisticians as well as finance and HR.

The firm is looking for highly skilled people, and 80% of its current staff has PhDs.

APC was founded by then post-doctoral student Mark Barrett and his professor at UCD Brian Glennon in 2011.

It is supported by Enterprise and Ireland and its expansion has been welcomed by organisation and the Government.
