Shannon-based Company Ei Electronics, which is one of Ireland’s leading indigenous electronics manufacturing and exporting companies, has officially opened its state-of-the-art new group headquarters on its existing campus. The company also announced plans to hire 200 additional staff over the coming 12 months at its Shannon facility.

The new headquarters building on the existing Ei campus comprises a 10,000 sq m facility. It includes significant additional manufacturing capacity, Research and Development, and office space. The expansion underpins a strategy of maintaining 100% of manufacturing in Shannon, in addition to the co-location of other key functions on a single site.

Ei CEO Michael Guinee commented: “Today we embark on our next phase of growth, on the site in Shannon we have occupied for over 55 years. This building is a testament to the dedication of very many people over several decades, built on a strong culture of loyalty, respect, commitment and long service.”

Enterprise Ireland CEO, Leo Clancy said: “Enterprise Ireland is delighted to see Ei Electronics continue its ambitious growth strategy.  The new state-of-the-art facility here in Shannon means a bright future for an excellent company that is a great example of Irish innovation and advanced manufacturing.  The opening of this new facility, together with Ei Electronics plans to recruit an additional 200 people over the next 12 months, is very welcome news for the Mid-West region.”
